Jewellery worth €20,000 stolen in Peyia, Paphos. He had an alarm system but forgot to activate it.

Authorities are investigating the theft of jewellery worth €20,000 in Peyia, Paphos.

According to the Police, a British permanent resident of Peyia complained that while he was absent from his home from 19:30 to 22:00 yesterday evening, an unknown person entered his house and stole jewellery worth 20 thousand euros. When he returned, he found that strangers had broken the balcony door and stole the jewellery.

Members of the Pegeia police station went to the scene and from further examinations they carried out appeared that the perpetrators succeeded in entering and leaving after they broke with a sharp object the balcony door.

On the scene they received various evidence to identify the perpetrators.

As reported by the complainant, his residence has an alarm system, which however the owner forgot to activate.

There is no insurance coverage for items stolen.
