Breaking News – Nicosia: Fire in a downtown restaurant – Preventive apartments were evacuated
A fire broke out at midday on Wednesday 22/5 at a restaurant on Rigain Street in downtown Nicosia.
According to www.tothemaonline.com the fire was caused by a motor and expanded into the oven of the Rigain Street restaurant.
At the point the Fire Department arrived and put under control the fire very quickly. Now they are trying to complete extinguishing of the fire.
Two adjacent apartments were preventively evacuated, so that there was no danger to the tenants.
Also, according to the fireman’s spokesman Andreas Kettis, a fire broke out in the area of Tseri around 12:30 on Wednesday 22/5, with the force responding with three vehicles operating in an area with greens and wild vegetation.
